Part A
Problems
Problem #1: Many people have trouble getting the last of the soap out of the bottle, or the last of their drink out of the cup. This has to deal with the length of the straw in a cup and the pump in a soap container. We found a way on makeitorfixit.com that shows them making the pump longer on the end. We found this problem on Buzzfeed.com because many people have complained about this problem, including ourselves. There are some on the market, but they are not as successful as our solution could be.
Problem #2: Many parents struggle with little kids when they're eating out of bowls that fall over often. This happens because the spoon weighs one of the sides of the bowl down which makes it tip over. We found this problem on Buzzfeed.com as well because many people struggle with heavy spoons while eating cereal. There are no solutions to this problem, so we could come up with possible ways to solve this problem.
Problem #3: Many girls wear fanny packs when they want a hands free way of carrying their things. This can sometimes be annoying and in the wrong place. There are better locations to have this place to hold your things such as a strap on your leg with a pocket. We thought of this idea ourselves so we know there are no solutions that already exist.
Problem #4: Many times when you are in the bright sun outside, your phone has a glare not allowing you to see the screen. It is often hard to squint your eyes to see what is on your screen. We also came up with this idea ourselves because we have both struggled with this problem before when we are on the beach during the summer. There are no solutions for this problem so it will be interesting to come up with different ideas to solve this problem.

Summary
During Part A Piper and I brainstormed multiple ideas. We asked some people what common problems they had during their day. We also talked to each other about problems we have. Finally we came up with four solid ideas. To decide what idea would work the best we used two decision matrixes to get solid results. Both matrixes had the same number one result. The problem that won was sun glare on your phone and how it makes it difficult to see. After we decided on that problem, we began to research to justify that other people have this problem and not just us. We also looked to see if anyone had come up with a solution. The next step was to create a survey. While creating the survey we chose questions that would help us create a problem statement and help us validate further that this is a problem. After we got the results we created a problem statement.
